It’s time for yet another update to my genealogy of conspiracy theories about global warming. Today’s update brings us
- Alexander Cockburn’s conspiracy theory;
- Michael Fox’s theory; and
- Vincent Gray’s latest theory (currently discussed on Deltoid and Hot Topic).
You can view the updated genealogy by clicking on the Richard Lindzen lolpic on the right (inspired by Lindzen’s recent conspiracy theory).
My wish list for the next Heartland conference

I kid you not: the Heartland Institute will be hosting yet another ‘conference’ for global warming inactivists, which’ll be called — you guessed it — the “2009 International Conference on Climate Change”. Definitely an event to look forward to! Here are some of the “new research findings” and other stuff which I hope will come up during the conference:
- Lindzen’s latest climate conspiracy theory.
- A brand new academic award for Lindzen, invented by the Heartland Institute just a minute ago, to make up for all the “prizes and awards” he couldn’t get from the
mainstreampolitically-correctist-extremist scientific organizations. - Michael Fox explaining to Alexander Cockburn why the global warming theory isn’t a conspiracy by the “nuclear industry” to recover from Chernobyl, but is actually a concoction by anti-nuclear hippies.
- The New Zealand Flat Earth Society. (Failing that, a New York Flat Earth Society.)
(Thanks to The Editors for alerting me to Cockburn’s theory.)
