Apparently, via Deltoid, Heartland actually posted this. Either Tim’s pulling our legs, or they’ve since changed it, though. I’m waiting on seeing if anyone WebCited it.

    Brian D:

Yep, I did a WebCite archive which has the video number (JfiT0kmBhc4) inside its source (the video doesn’t show up on my side, alas).

    Superb!

This year is looking promising, what with GreenFyre’s Sherlock Holmes parody, and Gareth’s response, and of course your contribution (which I found at Deltoid).

Phantom Soviet Empire bit is not as funny as it might be , because former Dezinformatsia Apparatchik Yuri ( ‘Nuclear Winter :Scientists Warning’ , Mir Press 1986) Izrael showed up to defend Lukh Oil’s methane belching at the 2008 conference.

Fred Singer somehow failed to note this blast from the past in his write-up of the event for the learned journal of the John Birch Society. Cold Warriors may recall Yuri’s understudy , Vladimir Alexandrov, who has been suffering from a mild case of liquidation since being stuffed into a van in front of the Soviet Embassy in Madrid, after blowing his lines at a disarmament conference in 1985. Evidently Andropov was not amused . Today, Putin isn’t talking, and neither is Yuri.

    Russell:

So, are Putin and Izrael the ones being intimidated by the Phantom Soviet Empire, or are they the intimidators? How does this square with the theory that ‘global warming’ is a Soviet plot?

Huh? Russian oil is simply tagging along ob the PR front, witness vintage retreads transitioning from the Party to the Lukh oil line- science has nothing to do with it.

However, Alexandrov’s case needs remembering Though he was done in in such a corny fashion- no umbrellas or polonium, the responsible parties never faced justice despite violating the other Heisenberg principle :

While climate enthusiasts are not above suing all and sundry, physicists do not shoot other physicists.
